About Jeff

Jeff began playing the drums at the age of 9. Her first started learning from his father, who had been playing in jazz bands since the 1940’s. As a teenager, Jeff took lessons with Ken Vogel (Philadelphia drummer, teacher and noted author) and he learned multiple styles of drum set.

Jeff studied drum set with Tom Aungst while in college at West Chester University and participated in multiple college musical groups including the Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band and the Wind Ensemble. At that time, Jeff marched with the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps in 1987 and the Cadets of Bergen County Drum and Bugle Corps in 1989. In 1990 and 1991, Jeff performed with the Bushwackers Drum and Bugle Corps earning a DCA World Championship and two high percussion titles.

Jeff began instructing marching bands and drum and bugle corps in 1987 including Sun Valley High School Marching Band, West Chester University, The Cadets of Bergen County, The Crossmen, The Bushwackers and many other groups. He also did clinics for the Navy Drum and Bugle Corps and the Texas Bandmasters Association.

In 2005, Jeff began studying with “Drumming’s Global Ambassador” Dom Famularo. Jeff has also studied with Dave Uosikkinen of The Hooters and Ben Lokuta of Herd of Bison.

In the November 2015 issue of Modern Drummer Magazine, Dom Famularo named Jeff as one of the top drum instructors in the world.

Jeff has performed and recorded with The Royal Brass Orchestra and the Bosom Band. He also performed with Simon Kirke of Bad Company along with many other musical groups.
